Hindustan Brake Motors – 2KB2 combine an AC induction motor with an electromagnetic AC or DC brake. They are designed for applications where instantaneous stopping of the driven load is required.
The brake operates as a fail-safe, normally ON type. When electrical power to the motor is switched off or fails, the brake is applied. When the supply resumes, the electromagnetic brake is released and the motor shaft is free to rotate.
The motors are available in frame sizes from 63 to 250 MX and power ratings from 0.12 to 55.0 kW, with 2, 4, 6 and 8 pole configurations. The supplied specifications include B3, B5, B14 and combination mounting, 415V ±10% voltage, 50Hz ±5% frequency and IP54 protection.
The brake motors are designed for simple and rugged operation and easy maintenance. A rectifier is provided for DC brake motors, eliminating the need for a separate DC supply.
